East Bethel's Eerie Aerie--by Allison Aloisio.
Poised for flight this sculpture is one of seven pieces in the Robert Donald and Irma Holt Memorial Sculpture Garden and Nature Center at Heidi Holt's East Bethel Farm.
Local sculpture Larry Corriveau created the works in memory of the Holts, who helped him in getting an education. Sculptures behind the house, like "Lady Hawk"(pictured here) have an American Indian theme. "My mother loved birds," said Heidi. Those in the front have a western theme, in keeping with her father's interest in horses. Heidi has also taken in some animals from people in emergency situations and is making improvements to the farm to attract wildlife. Proceeds from the nonprofit garden will go toward maintaining the garden itself and establishing a nature center. She said visitors are welcome at the garden/center at 688 East Bethel Road.
