The Saint is an imaginary stick-figure of a catholic saint. I began this piece when a good friend of mine became very ill. I guess it was my way of asking for divine intervention on behalf of the health and safety of this individual. My prayers were answered because he is much better now. It is said that to become a catholic saint one must perform 3 miracles; it seems like an awesome task. But to someone who has nothing, being allowed to have something to continue existing truly is a miracle to that individual. "Oh what a wonderful world if we all practiced making 3 miracles and all became saints."
This piece has not only become a symbol of faith for me but also as a marker for Irma Holt, whose ashes were scattered where "The Saint" stands today.
