"Heartbreaker was a study of why we get personally involved with people that hurt us. People that are all glitter on the outside and no depth on the inside. That's why the top heart on the sculpture is hollow-empty. These heartbreakers get involved with people with hearts of pure gold and always hurt them. Hence the broken golden heart on the bottom. The participants for this study were, myself and Heidi Holt. We were both victims of heartbreakers. May we learn from our errors to see through "hearts of glass." Heartbreaker was created just for the artist and his close friends. He was inspired by bad relationships and their effects on the people involved and the people around them.
